I die...

Here recently David has been starting a family hug before Lia lays down for bed. Lia wasn't sure at first what was going on, but she's figured it out and is now all for it. Tonight was the cutest. She said "we are I love you family."

She could have asked me for car and she would have gotten it just then. Soooo cute. I love that girl!

Mittens

Lia has found that socks on your feet aren't nearly as much fun as socks on your hands!

Mommy Needs A Break!

So this week has been very stressful. David has been out and about most nights until it's time to put Lia to bed or she's asleep. He's had company over or stuff to do. That means I've been on duty from Lia up till Lia down. The good news is Lia has been a good girl this week. The bad news is that I'm nursing a cold and have been extremely stressed out. So when David told me he was going to the IU game on Sunday, something had to be done for my sanity. As a result...I'm taking myself away, alone for a short time to get my hair cut.

I admit I've fallen into that no me time mommy. As a result I can't even remember what to do with "me time." Whenever I get time to myself, I find myself completely zoning out in front of the TV or falling blissfully asleep. Being pregnant with a toddler, I figure that's okay. I haven't had my hair cut since the summer. It's unruly at best and lives in a ponytail 24/7. It's Mom hair. Serious Mom hair...with self cut bangs and all. I'm a mess and it's time I fixed it.

So I'll start tomorrow....today I've got to share the shower with my daughter and about 25 of her close personal Yo Gabba Gabba toy friends.

MOPS and Lia

It was Mommy and Me Day Out today. Lia and I took off for Recreation Unlimited. It's a store that sells playground equipment. Lucky for us, you can play there for a small fee. Lia jumped on a trampoline, dunked basketballs, rode tire swings, slide down slides, and played at the train tables. Mommy mostly just tried to keep up. I did get to chit chat a bit...but honestly not much. The other kids were mostly older and it got really crowded. It was nice to get to run around and get our energy out. Now I'm hoping for a nice nap this afternoon!

Facing Facts

I have finally called the doctor about my sweet girl's issues. No mommy wants to think something may be wrong with their perfect little child. But the time has come, so here it goes....Lia is showing some signs of a sensory processing disorder. It's noises and touches that bother her. It's effecting her diet and possibly her general happiness, although she's a happy camper 90% of the time. I know this can only help her, so I'm on board with whatever that means. As a teacher, I can see IEPs in my future...and it's scary. I can only hope I'm over reacting. But no matter what the outcome, I love this girl and will do whatever it takes to make her world a better place.

Tiffany Blue

We have decided both kiddos will be in one room, that is until they realize they have different anatomy. I spent quite some time scouting out the interwebs for colors and themes that were cute for boy and girls. We finalized our colors to aqua and red. More specifically Tiffany blue. It's a copyrighted color....but truly the perfect blue. If I had some Tiffany jewels I could just take the box in and have that color match magic done for our paint. But I have none. Ho hum, so glum.

So my Internet friends, it's time for operation get David to buy me some jewels...for the good of the children. Just give him a little advice about how everyone knows that pregnant wives get Tiffany jewels. Wink wink.

Remember...think of the children!

Oh Joy It's A...

You got it! We're having a boy. I guess my mommy intuition was right. Miss Lia is going to have a little brother (or bother as Olivia says). David is pretty happy about that, although he loves his little girl.
More importantly everything is checking out just fine. We will have to go in for another ultrasound because the little man is breech and we couldn't get a good look at his face. They will be checking for cleft lip and any palate abnormalities. He is also measuring a smudge bit small, but all the measurements were equal so we're told not to worry about it. It was a good report. We're now thinking names and planning the nursery!

Lia and Mommy

So just Lia and I went to the Children's Museum today. We mainly hit the Playscape. She had so much fun and was an excellent sharer!

I confess!

It's raining. It's been raining all day. I feel like doing nothing. Absolutely nada! I have done the dishes, gotten dressed, prepared food and fed my daughter, even left the house to return a movie. I will sweep the floor, do a quick swiffer, change out dishes, and do a general pick up. But I think it's leftovers for dinner tonight and extra cuddly play time for my sweet girl. She's been making faces like the one below, clearly she needs a good cuddle because she's not rotten enough!

Busy Days...

The goal is keeping Lia busy these days. So when she said she wanted to make cookies, we did. But the fun didn't last long enough. I gave her a pan of flour and she's been playing in it for awhile now. She dips, swirls, and occasionally rubs some on her face. I'm not sure what that's all about....but she's cute so she gets away with it!

Morning Outting...

In an effort to wear out Miss Lia No Nap, we went shopping and to the park. Lia got new shoes and it's true love. She picked them out herself. It was an immediate choice. She said "flower shoes. I like colors." They also happen to be very bling bling. Go figure.

At the park, she was her regular wild woman self. I learned that wearing Lua out also wears me out! Check out my sleepy girl eating lunch...
