Tired yet?

We are transitioning Lia to a new room and a big girl bed. It's been ugly. I'm starting to have visions of Lia in college standing at her dorm door crying for her mommy and pooping for some attention. Yesterday I tried to get rid of her energy by a trip to the park. It didn't work...but here's a nice shot of her grumping at me while I tried to take her picture. Note the dark circles under her eyes.

Good night sleep tight little duckling

Last night was Lia's first in her big girl bed. She found it much more fun to play in it than sleep in it. We are using the Super Nanny Stay in Bed Technique. It seemed to work last night, hopefully tonight will be a shorter process. I have to tackle naptime today for the first time...wish me luck!

I miss this face!

Lia spent two glorious nights with her Nana and Papaw. I slept in, went out to eat, took a nap, talked to my husband, and watched movies. Fabulous.

But I miss this girl...

Chillin

We've been sorta busy lately. So today we are working at home. We may run out, but most likely not. Lia needs a day not running around in the car.

I had (and passed!) my three hour glucose screening on Monday. It left me in less of a zombie state than last time, but a nap for me was still inevitable. I am so thankful to my sweet hubby who took the day off to take care of Lia in the morning, and rebuilt our sidewalk in the afternoon. He is awesome! Below is a picture of Lia relaxing in the afternoon.

On Tuesday, Lia had OT in the morning. She is getting better, but still is hating to put anything wet in her mouth. Patience please. David and I went on the hospital tour for baby brother. Since we will be at a new hospital, we thought we would take a look around. David enjoyed the big comfy looking chairs for him and the special snack room. I liked the larger triage rooms, the little tiny footprints on the wall, and that David might be a bit more comfy.

Now we have plans to clean house, do laundry, and get things back on track!

Ups and Downs

The Ups

1. Our OT for Lia is a genius. She gave Lia an "all done bowl." now when Lia is done she puts her food in there instead of chucking it on the floor. She loves her little bowl. I highly recommend this if you have a thrower like us!

2. Lia got a sand and water table. She is starting to play in the sand. It's awesome. We taught her how to clean her hands as she plays so she is even touching the sand with her hands. Big steps!!!!

3. This weather! Playing outside every day, flowers blooming, birds chirping it doesn't get much better!

4. My MOPS secret sister liked her door hanging. I thought it was super cool, but my hubby asked me if she would like it. Needless to say, my confidence failed. But it was all good!

5. And to piggy back on the weather thing...playing outside means less playing inside. Toys are more fun because they aren't the only entertainment. And the biggie...my house is cleaner because we are spending less time in it!

The Downs

1. With therapy, David doesn't get to see the techniques and I forget to mention things until they come up. So we keep doing our best, but it isn't easy. But I love that he is so willing to help in this part of Lia's life.

2. After my glucose screening I was sick, sick, sick. Guess what that means? I failed. Now I get to go in on Monday for the three hour test. Bleck!

Secret Sister

My MOPS group has a secret sister program. We exchange little gifts, cards, thoughts, etc to a secret person for the year. Mine has the last name of Schaffer. So I made this cute little Easter door hanging. It's super simple ( as in finished completely during nap) and inexpensive but super cute!

Little Brother...

So Little Brother had another photo session today. During which he laid on Mommy's main artery and caused her to start seeing spots and begin to pass out. It was stellar. Oh and did I mention that I was also in the middle of my blood glucose screening. I couldn't figure out what was going on. However, laying on an examining table at a doctors office connected to the hospital is a great place to get your black out on. As soon as they flipped me on my side, I immediately felt the blood gush up into my head and my vision clear. Problem solved and at least I know what that feels like now.

Other than that it was uneventful. Little brother is doing great. He's now head down and measuring a bit ahead. That was probably our last view of him until the big day....in late May or early June.

Adventures in Farm World

We got our first chicken egg! My hubby ate it this morning. It was quite the celebration. Doesn't get much fresher, or more organic, than that!

Also here's a bonus picture of Lia. I got this headband for a dollar at Target. We may go back for the bunny ears. :)

Self Portrait

Can you believe that Lia took this picture of herself?!? Of course there are about 50 others that are crazy...

Camping in the Living Room

So severe weather is expected today, which means we will be inside. Mama decided to break out the tent for fun. There has been lots of "I love tents", climbing in and out, and goodnight/wake up game. However, judging by the sky maybe I should have put it in the basement...live and learn.

Princess Stinkpot

Lia refuses pants but will wear a blanket clipped on with a big binder clip. She calls herself, Princess Stinkpot or Princess Gwinnie, depending on her mood. Weirdo!
